Career Counselor

Duties:
Responsible for providing career & academic counseling. Plans & implements program objectives which include academic counseling, advising, developing & coordinating cultural events, documentation, & evaluation of services to meet state & federal guidelines. Keeps up-to-date records relating to student contacts. Develops & facilitates career & academic workshops and programs for students. Oversees test outs for the College.

Required:
Bachelor's Degree required, Master's degree preferred. 1-3 years related experience, preferably in an academic setting. Experience with underrepresented populations. Strong project/time management skills and creativity necessary. Demonstrated ability to organize concurrent tasks efficiently and with attention to detail, maintain a high level of confidentiality, listen carefully, interpret accurately & respond to a high volume of requests. Excellent communication, customer service skills, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, database management & online searches. Knowledge of Jenzabar or comparable college platform.

Status:
Regular Full-Time/Exempt

Hours:
Day, evening & weekend responsibilities, as required.

Manager, Walker Center for Academic Excellence
