Chi Alpha Epsilon Honor Society

Chi Alpha Epsilon (XAE) is a national honor society that was founded in 1989 at West Chester University. We at Peirce College are very privileged to host the Alpha Iota Chapter of this prestigious honor society.


MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS:

  1. All inductees must be a member of the Walker Center for at least one full fourteen week session before applying for membership. Students must be eligible for one of the three Higher Education Opportunity programs (Student Support Services (SSS), or Perkins) to be considered for membership.
  2. Full-time students must achieve a high standard of academic performance and must have the following:
    • A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better for two consecutive 14-week sessions
    • Must be full-time during the current induction session and have been full-time during the previous two consecutive 14-week sessions
    • Must have earned 24 or more credits to be eligible for membership
  3. Part-time students must achieve a high standard of academic performance and must have the following:
    • A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better for three consecutive 14-week sessions as a part-time, matriculated student taking a minimum of 27 credits, OR
    • A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better for four consecutive 14-week sessions as a part-time, matriculated student taking a minimum of 24 credits
    • Successful completion of between 6-9 credits each session to be considered part-time
  4. Students must be ACTIVE Walker Center participants. Students must have abided by the terms indicated in the Walker Center Membership Contract: met with a counselor or academic advisor twice a session; kept scheduled appointments with an advisor, counselor, or tutor; and attended two workshops and a minimum of one cultural event or program each session the student was enrolled in Walker Center.
  5. Students must not be enrolled in their final session the College.
  6. Students must have an interest in performing community service and organizing and facilitating educational programs.

Paralegal Student Association

The purpose of the Peirce College Paralegal Student Association is to:

All students in good academic standing currently enrolled in the Paralegal Studies program at Peirce College are members of the Paralegal Student Association. Members are encouraged to participate in at least two (2) functions/events per calendar year. Participation can be either in person or via the threaded discussion on the Association website.

Delta Mu Delta Honor Society

Delta Mu Delta is a national honor society for Business students, and it is affiliated with ACBSP, the organization that has accredited the Business Administration program at Peirce. Each fall, students who meet eligibility requirements are invited for membership. Eligible students are business administration majors who have a minimum grade point average of 3.3 and have completed 60 college level credits.

Lambda Epsilon Chi (LEX)

Peirce College has a chapter of Lambda Epsilon Chi (LEX), a nationally recognized academic national honor society for paralegal students. LEX is sponsored by the American Association for Paralegal Education (AAfPE) which offers national scholarship opportunities, and networking opportunities with other legal professionals.

Induction to the society is based upon academic excellence.

Candidates for membership in LEX must be in good academic standing at Peirce College as a Paralegal Studies Bachelor of Science student or as a Post-Bachelor Certificate Paralegal Studies student.

Candidates must have a cumulative and major grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

Peirce College will induct students into LEX during the spring semester of each year. Eligible students will be contacted by the Dean of Students. There is a one-time fee associated with the membership.

SIFE (Students in Free Enterprise)

SIFE (Students in Free Enterprise) is an international non-profit organization that works with leaders in business and higher education. The Peirce College Chapter of SIFE is involved with different business projects in order to improve areas of the community through outreach projects focusing on socially responsible business skills.
