Peirce College Offers Bachelor's in Paralegal Studies at Burlington County College
For Immediate Release
PHILADELPHIA, June 28, 2008 - Peirce College is offering a bachelor's degree completion program in Paralegal Studies at Burlington County College's Mt. Laurel Campus. The program offers students throughout Southern New Jersey an opportunity to study in Peirce's ABA-approved Paralegal Studies program.
"This will make it very convenient for our students as well as students from neighboring colleges to earn a bachelor's degree in paralegal studies," said Dr. Robert C. Messina, Jr., President of Burlington County College. "By taking their classes in a location close to home, they will have a way to manage the time pressures that come with balancing work, school and family."
According to Edwin Miller, Professor and Faculty Chair of Legal Studies at Peirce College, the program will help paralegal students to prepare for the changing paralegal profession.
"Firms are now demanding enhanced knowledge and expertise from their paralegal staff," said Miller. The program is designed to help students anticipate these needs and compete in the increasingly competitive job market."
In addition to the degree completion program, Peirce is also offering a post-bachelor's certificate in Paralegal Studies for students who have a bachelor's in a parallel field.
"We are seeing candidates who already hold a bachelor's in another discipline coming back to school to add the paralegal credential base," Miller said. "The certificate is a good option for them, because it teaches the skills they need to work in the field."
