Strategic Planning Process Launches New Era at Peirce College

For Immediate Release

Philadelphia, August 7, 2009 - To map out his vision for Peirce College, new president and chief executive officer James J. Mergiotti is leading an aggressive strategic planning process that will involve all aspects of the College.

"This will be a very collaborative process involving Peirce's stakeholders, including employees, students, alumni and trustees," Mergiotti said. "The plan will be developed using a very open process. We want all of the College's constituencies to play a role in setting the direction for the future and establishing the new era at Peirce College."

Stevens Strategy, a consulting firm specializing in managing the process of strategic change at educational institutions, will facilitate this process. The undertaking will occur in five phases and culminate in a multi-year strategy which will commence in Spring 2010.

Peirce has a dedicated area on the College's website to keep all interested parties informed throughout the process. In addition, there will be four open campus meetings, which will provide opportunities for face-to-face discussion on the issues during the plan's development.

Mergiotti pointed out that the strategic plan will build on Peirce's long standing reputation as one of the region's leaders in higher education programs for working adults and promote even greater career success for the College's graduates in the future.

Peirce College offers bachelor's and associate degree programs in Business, Healthcare, Information Technology and Paralegal Studies. Peirce College is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (3624 Market Street, Philadelphia, Pa., 19104; 267-284-5000).
