William H. Morgan Elected Trustee of Peirce College

For Immediate Release

Philadelphia, October 6, 2009 - Mr. William H. Morgan was recently elected to the Board of Trustees of Peirce College.

Mr. Morgan is senior vice president of global human resources for NASDAQ OMX. He was formerly executive vice president technology and operations and chief information officer for the Philadelphia Stock Exchange, Inc. (PHLX).

"Bill Morgan brings a great deal to the role of Trustee," said James J. Mergiotti, Peirce president and chief executive officer. "He has been extremely successful in his career and has the rare blend of technology, operations, and human resources credentials. He has served as executive vice president and chief information officer for a major Philadelphia area employer, the Philadelphia Stock Exchange, for many years, before it was acquired by NASDAQ OMX. Bill is now in a senior leadership role at NASDAQ OMX. On a volunteer basis, Bill has been involved for many years in advisory capacities with higher education institutions."

"Higher education is in many ways like business; it is about people, process and technology," Mr. Morgan said. "And just like business, higher education is dynamic and always changing. Keeping current - whether curricula, operations, trends, new ways of teaching-is very important.

"It is equally important for educational institutions to have strong connections with industry and business. By involving business leaders on boards, advisory committees and as partners, an institution can keep fresh and up-to-date. I want to share my own knowledge and experience with Peirce and be an active contributor."

Mr. Morgan is a maxima cum laude graduate of Peirce College in Philadelphia with a degree in computer science. "Peirce created a learning environment that was very close to what you found in the business world," Mr. Morgan said. "The College's courses allowed me to enter the workforce with the right skill sets, which is what every employer looks for. Peirce has continued to upgrade its programs and is a successful resource for the business world. While that is every college's goal, Peirce continues to produce graduates who can hit the ground running. That was and continues to be their strength."

Mr. Morgan has received numerous awards for his work including the Sun Microsystems Stellar Performance Award, and the Society for Information Management (SIM) Leadership Award for development and implementation of the Exchange's Derivatives Hybrid Electronic Trading System. He has also been a finalist for the Computerworld Smithsonian Award. His work has been featured in Computer World, Information Week, LAN Magazine, Securities Industry News and Wall Street Technology Magazine.

Mr. Morgan serves on the Board of Directors of Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center, Inc., the Society for Information Management (SIM) Board of Directors, and the Npower CIO Advisory Council. Mr. Morgan is a graduate of the Securities Industry Institute.
