Associate Director of Employer Relations

FUNCTIONS:

  • Develops and implements strategies designed to increase employment opportunities for Peirce College students and graduates.
  • Identifies and builds new relationships with employers for the recruitment of students and alumni through outreach activities such as cold calls, email blasts, and employer visits.
  • Schedules and conducts employer visits to determine hiring needs and promote the College's students and alumni as a potential candidate pool.
  • Collaborates with the Director of Corporate Partnerships to support existing corporate partners as well as target new opportunities.
  • Collaborates with employers to develop marketing strategies for enhancement of employer presence including in-person and virtual recruitment events, job postings, internships, career fairs, and class/organization presentations.
  • Manages employer contacts using the Handshake job board as well as integrating with the College’s Customer Relations Management (CRM) platform.
  • Tracks job market demand, recruiting trends, job-offer data, and hiring results for students and alumni; and, develops reporting to be shared within the College and select external employer partners.
  • Develops an in-depth understanding of the experience(s) of non-traditional, diverse, working adult students.
  • Creates and executes surveys to identify students’ interests in industries, companies, and roles.
  • Participates in various local, state, regional, and national organizations such as Chambers of Commerce, SHRM, NACE, and EACE.
  • Conducts Internet research, develop knowledge of employment trends, and keep up-to-date knowledge of student needs in diverse academic areas.
  • Facilitates the development of Full-Time jobs, Internships, Cooperative Work Experiences (Co-Op), Microinternships/Project-based Internships, and Work Study opportunities.
  • Coordinates in-person and virtual recruiting events such as career fairs and employer knowledge sharing opportunities/info sessions.
  • Formulates strategies for achieving greater participation rates for those students who underuse available career resources.
  • Develops recruiting tools, to include job announcements, email blasts, and short form videos, and targets applicants. 
  • Collaborates with Career Development Counselors to identify optimal candidates and guides interested students/graduates through application and interview processes.

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in related field of study. 
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in related field, i.e. Recruiting, Human Resources, Staffing, Job Development, or Career Coaching. Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.
  • Current knowledge of regional workforce trends and industry needs as well as existing relationships with regional employers.
  • Experience or aptitude working with a diverse community including non-traditional adult learners preferred.
  • Proficiency in Windows operating environment as well as the knowledge of or ability to learn: Handshake, video conferencing, i.e. Zoom, Customer Relations Management (CRM) platform, i.e. Salesforce, Google Workplace, Social Media, and Microsoft Office Suite. 

DEMONSTRATED ABILITY TO:

  • Develop new and existing relationships through cold-contacting.
  • Explain policies and procedures to students and colleagues to foster compliance.
  • Work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Listen carefully, to interpret accurately, and to respond to a high volume of requests.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality with all aspects of the job.

STATUS:

Regular Full-Time/Exempt – Position can be performed remotely. Candidates local to the surrounding Philadelphia area are optimal due to necessary job functions and expectations of onsite work and/or event attendance, as needed.

Full vaccination against COVID-19 is required as employees they cannot enter our facilities, attend meetings or events, on behalf of Peirce, without it. 

HOURS:

Day, evening, and weekend responsibilities, as required.
