Associate Director of Institutional Advancement

JOB SUMMARY:

Peirce College is seeking an experienced Advancement professional to support the College’s financial and strategic goals by identifying, cultivating, and soliciting donors and prospects via personal visits, grant writing, and events. Additionally, this position is responsible for managing institutional needs, personal fundraising goals, and a portfolio of donors and prospects.

FUNCTIONS:

  • Identifies, cultivates, and solicits institutional and individual donors to support the College’s financial needs and strategic goals.
  • Manages a portfolio of individual, foundation, corporate, government, and organizational donors and prospects.
  • Serves as the College liaison to support the Peirce College Alumni Association.
  • Organizes direct mail and email appeals to alumni, friends, and employees.
  • Collaborates with the Senior Director and the leadership team to develop and implement the College’s annual fundraising plans and goals.
  • Identifies and prioritizes local, regional, and national prospects that align with the College’s strategic goals and services.
  • Writes grant proposals and executes relevant activities including coordinating materials and submitting documents in accordance with grant requirements and deadlines for local, state, federal, foundation and corporate-based grants.
  • Assists with supporting the College’s Institutional Advancement Committee such as developing agendas, generating reports, and soliciting input.
  • Obtains contact information for prospects, VIPs, and donors, and provides it to the Communications and Development Specialist for entry into the College’s database.
  • Represents Peirce College at special events, such as the Chamber of Commerce Mayor’s Lunch, Philadelphia City Council Annual Reception, and donor sponsored events.
  • Manages thank you letters and recognition of donors, VIPs, and key constituents in the portfolio.
  • Collaborates with Senior Director to identify and pursue funding opportunities from corporations and foundations. Provides support with outreach communications.  
  • Oversees grant funding calendar, manages and updates institutional grant repository, and advises of activities needed to support cultivation.
  • Collaborates with Institutional Research and other relevant areas within Peirce College to identify data required in support of grant proposals and to ensure grant and institutional compliance.
  • Cultivates external stakeholders including grant officers to solicit invitations to submit proposals; determines the College’s eligibility to submit funding proposals and requests.
  • Advises the President’s Council of funding opportunities, awards, and declines. 
  • Assists with special events, such as the Executive Leadership Breakfast, by soliciting sponsorships, promoting attendance, managing logistics, as well as other responsibilities as needed.
  • Joins local and regional organizations, networks, and distribution lists to remain abreast of grant-based opportunities.

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required from an accredited institution. Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in development and relationship management, nonprofit environment preferred.
  • Proficiency in Windows operating environment, current Microsoft Office Suite products, Google G-Suite, and Zoom or other web conferencing applications.
  • Familiarity with Raisers Edge (or comparable software) preferred.
  • Experience with or the ability to understand, use, and adapt to technologically current applications.

  • Listen carefully, to interpret accurately and to respond to a high volume of requests;

STATUS:

Full-Time/Exempt – Position is currently remote until further notice. Candidates should be local to the Philadelphia area due to necessary job functions as role will have expectations of onsite/event attendance, as needed.

Full vaccination against COVID-19 is required of employees as they cannot enter our facilities, attend meetings or events on behalf of Peirce without it. 

HOURS:

Day, evening, and weekend responsibilities, as required.
