Marketing and Communications Specialist


Responsible for assisting the Marketing and Communications Department in accomplishing the goals and mission of the College by directly contributing to the College’s strategic goals to include attracting new students, enhancing the image of the College, and building relationships with key groups such as current students, prospective students, alumni, and College employees. Specifics duties to include:

  • Develops creative content, including videos, infographics, blog articles, and native content in collaboration with the Senior Director and the VP, as well as provides video editing and production services for in-house events and projects.
  • Manages the College’s email marketing operations by building content, overseeing calendar planning and managing contact lists for prospects, current students, alumni, and other constituencies.
  • Leads administration of the College’s social media program by creating and delivering social content, and overseeing community management and quarterly reporting. Develops and executes the College’s social media strategy in collaboration with the Senior Director and VP.
  • Manages the College blog, including developing and publishing content.
  • Oversees marketing event planning and attendee recruitment for external and internal College events. Manages event promotion to include material creation (emails, flyers, social posts, etc.) and online registration and RSVP tracking for events aimed at new student recruitment, current student engagement, and fundraising/alumni. 
  • Partners with various teams, departments, and managers to identify opportunities and develop outreach strategies in target lead generation and partnership development markets.
  • Develops and executes internal student-focused marketing campaigns.
  • Provides internal marketing support and plans development and execution to include signage creation and back up website content management. Executes tactics for marketing plans established by the College and department, including but not limited to coordinating mailings, updating materials, developing collaterals, and monitoring deliveries.
  • Manages relationships with external vendors by negotiating pricing, developing creative briefs and preparation documents, conducting project briefings, and keeping projects to deadline.
  • Plans and implements promotional campaigns, as outlined in the College’s marketing plans. Responsible for identifying promotional material needs of stakeholders.  Drafts, confirms, and fulfills the promotional materials plan on an annual basis, and organizes and maintains those materials throughout the year.
  • Provides direction for departmental work wtudy students and interns by overseeing project and task execution, providing guidance and instruction, as needed.
  • Creates and deploys surveys to the College’s key audiences.
  • Provides budget management and invoice processing support, as needed.


Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field with a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience preferred. Experience in developing content, including videos, blog articles, social media posts, and other written content, for print, email, and web applications. Effective proofreading & editing skills. Demonstrated ability to: identify, develop, and execute marketing plans, as needed; liaise with internal staff and external contacts in order to manage projects as well as work independently and collaboratively to meet deadlines; and, listen carefully and interpret accurately the creation of visual representations of information. Proficiency in Windows operating environment, current Microsoft Office Suite products, and Google. Familiarity of Adobe Photoshop, Premier, and other creative programs with the ability to learn and adapt to other applications and programs, as needed. Proficiency in using social media platforms for business purposes, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube, with the ability to adapt to new and innovative programs. Ability to understand, use, and adapt to web-based tools for CRM (Salesforce) and website updates.


Full-Time/Exempt – Position will work remotely until further notice.


Day, evening, and weekend responsibilities, as required.
