Description: Peirce College is hiring adjunct faculty to teach on campus in the 2016-2017 academic year. Faculty Member, General Education (Philosophy)

Description: Responsible for instruction of a wide array of undergraduate humanities classes, with a focus on philosophy. Teaches a total of 10 courses during the Fall and Spring Terms (with a 5/5 teaching load for each Fall and Spring Term); engages in, on average, 4 hours of institutional service per week which may include committee work, student recruitment programs, tutoring, career mentoring, academic advising, networking activities and curriculum/course development; attends functions, as assigned, including commencement, monthly faculty meetings, college forums, and scheduled in-service activities; becomes involved in professional development activities, and academic/professional organizations; and supports existing relationships with professional communities to foster professional socialization and leadership development.

Faculty Member, Legal Studies

Description: Responsible for instruction of undergraduate courses in ABA-approved Paralegal Studies program, Criminal Justice Studies and Legal Studies in Business. Areas of specialty to include legal research, legal writing, criminal law, civil litigation, legal technology and legal ethics; as well as legal specialty courses from at least three of the following areas: family law, real estate law, tort law, estate law, business organizations, bankruptcy, employment law, workers compensation, contracts and intellectual property.

Staff Openings

Academic Advisor

Description: Serves as an educational guide and retention leader for students who are enrolled in degree programs by proactively reaching out to them to provide academic guidance and support while reviewing, monitoring, discussing and strategizing educational goals and plans, as well as progress towards graduation. Plays an integral role in the College’s ability to achieve retention, graduation and customer service goals. Assists students with course registration as well as applying and receiving credit for prior learning, including college transfer credits, work experience and other forms of non-traditional education. Proactively maintains direct contact with all advisees to include meeting with students individually as well as in small groups on an ongoing basis to build rapport, identify barriers to success, set goals and develop action plans for academic success. Provides a lead role in advising students with academic progress or attendance issues to include monitoring students’ GPA, academic progress and course attendance/participation. Reviews students’ new student survey, placement test results and collaborates with students to assess skills, needs, barriers to success and available resources, to create a personalized education plan that supports students to graduation. Works closely with Academic Advancement to maintain an understanding of student policies, degree requirements, curriculum updates and course offerings.

Director, Career Development Services

Description: Responsible for overseeing and managing the daily operations of the Career Development Services department. This position develops, manages and implements a comprehensive range of internal services, resources, assessments and tools, to support and guide students and alumni with career development, foundation, exploration, preparation and opportunity access. This position will assist with strategic planning and review and works with relevant internal and external agencies, networks and vendors to ensure quality career services, cooperative education and work study programs.

Director, Grant Writing

Description: Peirce College’s mission is to equip adult learners, in a personalized, student-centered environment, to achieve their goals and successfully fulfill workforce needs. Primarily charged with the College’s grant proposal identification, writing, tracking, and reporting for corporate and private foundation funding opportunities in support of the College’s mission; and works closely with faculty and administrative staffs to prioritize opportunities, develop grant goals and funding needs, and manage institutional tracking relative to grant and project execution.

Director, Undergraduate Admissions

Description: Responsible for the day-to-day management of the Admissions team for the enrollment of new and re-admitted students and the implementation of enrollment strategies to meet the College’s enrollment goals; supervises the recruitment of prospective students from all sectors including (but not limited to) community colleges, high schools, the City of Philadelphia, community organizations and existing corporate partners for successful entry to the College’s programs; manages the throughput of potential students to become full or part-time students of the College, in adherence with the College’s Admissions process and policies; maintains accurate admissions data and reports to manage the effectiveness of the admissions team; oversees the Admissions budget and proactively plans and performs enrollment activities (completes process sales closure), as needed, to achieve the College’s new student and readmitted student enrollment goals; and represents the Admissions function on college-wide committees and represents the College externally with enrollment and business development activities.

Financial Aid Specialist

Description: The position serves as the central point of contact for all student needs regarding financial aid. Responsible for providing in-depth counseling of individual students pertaining to their unique circumstances, to include meeting with students and parents to facilitate the financial aid process; conducting needs analysis in compliance with federal criteria to determine eligibility of each financial aid applicant; adhering to federal verification standards by ensuring the data reported on the Federal Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) accurately reflects the data reported on corresponding federal tax return; resolving discrepancies, explaining and enforcing federal and state regulations, as well as College policy; and maintaining accuracy of student files, authorizing the crediting of aid awards and processing adjustments to aid awards as needed.
