Staff Openings

Academic Advisor

Description: Serves as an educational guide and retention leader for students who are enrolled in degree programs by proactively reaching out to them to provide academic guidance and support while reviewing, monitoring, discussing and strategizing educational goals and plans, as well as progress towards graduation. Plays an integral role in the College’s ability to achieve retention, graduation and customer service goals. Assists students with course registration as well as applying and receiving credit for prior learning, including college transfer credits, work experience and other forms of non-traditional education. Proactively maintains direct contact with all advisees to include meeting with students individually as well as in small groups on an ongoing basis to build rapport, identify barriers to success, set goals and develop action plans for academic success. Provides a lead role in advising students with academic progress or attendance issues to include monitoring students’ GPA, academic progress and course attendance/participation. Reviews students’ new student survey, placement test results and collaborates with students to assess skills, needs, barriers to success and available resources, to create a personalized education plan that supports students to graduation. Works closely with Academic Advancement to maintain an understanding of student policies, degree requirements, curriculum updates and course offerings.

Accounts Receivable Specialist (Part Time)

Description: Responsible for contacting students via email and telephone to college payment and/or negotiate payment arrangements on delinquent balances and outstanding balances; set up recurring credit card payments and eChecks for accounts entering into a payment arrangement; recommends settlements of accounts to the Director, Student Financial Services; reviews delinquent accounts on a weekly basis and contacts as appropriate; determines when and which delinquent accounts should be outsourced to an external agency for continuation of collection efforts; prepares delinquent letters in-house, when necessary, and performs follow-up phone calls; interacts with collection agencies and/or law firms for placement of delinquent accounts; maintains a tracking system to recall stale accounts placed with agencies and determines if the account should be contacted in-house or be sent to a different agency as second placements; ensures that students’ accounts are paid in full before allowing transcript requests to be processed or former students to readmit; processes invoices for outgoing commissions from law firms and collection agencies; works directly with the Registrar to ensure that students with delinquent accounts are dismissed from the College; serves as the back-up role for cashier in his/her absence; scans and emails financial aid missing documents daily.

Financial Aid Specialist

Description: The position serves as the central point of contact for all student needs regarding financial aid. Responsible for providing in-depth counseling of individual students pertaining to their unique circumstances, to include meeting with students and parents to facilitate the financial aid process; conducting needs analysis in compliance with federal criteria to determine eligibility of each financial aid applicant; adhering to federal verification standards by ensuring the data reported on the Federal Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) accurately reflects the data reported on corresponding federal tax return; resolving discrepancies, explaining and enforcing federal and state regulations, as well as College policy; and maintaining accuracy of student files, authorizing the crediting of aid awards and processing adjustments to aid awards as needed.

Learning Management System and Data Systems Administrator

Description: Responsible for the access to and availability of all Peirce College course content through the Learning Management System (LMS) – content management requires continual interaction with all full-time and adjunct faculty to ensure additions/modifications/deletions to the content is accurately and timely disseminated to all course websites; reconciles errors in the electronic transfer of data between the Student Information System (Jenzabar) and the LMS on a daily basis; enrolls faculty and supplemental instructors in their classes in a timely manner; creates all class websites in the LMS and other databases and ensures that they remain current with added and cancelled classes and staffing assignments; generates and deploys staffing surveys each term and assists with staffing as needed; designs multiple complex, interactive academic databases using Access, Excel and SQL, which provide the platforms on which all functions run, e.g. staffing courses, calculating payroll, tracking independent studies and co-ops, maintaining textbook lists, tracking classroom observations, collecting faculty credentials and scholarly activities information and professional development; builds and maintains course surveys and coordinates course survey deployment, retrieval and reporting process through the LMS; and, assists in administrative functions for the office of Academic Operations and Faculty Support.
