Adjunct Faculty for Healthcare Programs

Description: Peirce College is hiring adjunct faculty to teach on-campus, Healthcare programs (Advanced CPT Coding, Healthcare Delivery in the US, Healthcare Law and Ethics, HIM Compliance, Intro to Health Information Management, Legal Issues in Health Information Management). The courses run on campus at Peirce College (1420 Pine Street) during the Spring Term(Session 3 1/11/2016 – 3/6/2016, Session 4 3/14/2016 – 5/5/2016) in an accelerated 8-week format, one evening per week, 5:30 – 9:30pm.

Faculty Member, Healthcare Programs

Description: Responsible for instruction of undergraduate degree program and certificate courses in the Health Programs. Teaches a total of 10 courses during the Fall and Spring Terms (with a 5/5 teaching load for each Fall and Spring Term. Demonstrated working knowledge of quality management and performance improvement in healthcare, healthcare finance and strategic planning and organizational development in healthcare. Engages in, on average, four hours of institutional service per week, which may include committee work, student recruitment programs, tutoring, career mentoring, academic advising, networking activities and curriculum/course development. Attends functions, as assigned, including commencement, monthly faculty meetings, college forums and scheduled in-service activities. Becomes involved in professional development activities and academic/professional organizations.

Graduate Faculty Member, Master of Science in Healthcare Administration

Description: Responsible for providing a quality learning environment and facilitating student mastery of course, program and institutional learning outcomes through instruction that is practical, learner centered and career-focused. Ensures quality, consistency and compliance standards; is involved in the recruitment, admissions, and retention of graduate students; provides advising and guidance to graduate students and oversight of graduate student research, as well as broader service to the institution. Teaching assignments include nine (9) credit hours each term during the academic year (fall, spring and summer terms). Assigned courses may be day, evening, weekend, on site or online and may include off site instructional settings. Graduate faculty members ensure quality, consistency and compliance with discipline and academic standards. Other responsibilities include serving on appropriate departmental and College-wide committees; pursuing a research and service agenda in support of institutional goals; involvement in professional development activities and organizations in their discipline; and active engagement in research and scholarly endeavors.

Staff Openings

Competency Based Education (CBE) Coach, Information Technology

Description: Responsible for effective communication with and support of CBE students in the rate at and extent to which they master their degree program’s competencies. The CBE Coach provides direct service, outreach and support to CBE students; collaborating with students, faculty and student services toward the goal of effectively meeting individual student needs as they progress through their program to completion; and provides technical support. Liaises with other CBE team members to improve and extend the program. Duties include: developing, managing, facilitating and documenting regular contact with students enrolled in the CBE program Participate in new student orientation sessions; ensuring students are provided with an individualized plan that identifies their current academic status and steps required to reach their academic goals; monitoring students’ academic progress and implementing retention and completion strategies, as necessary; assisting students in the development of effective problem-solving skills, self-advocacy, decision making and personal responsibility; connecting students to specialized resources that will assist them in the goal of completing the information technology degree; working with students to develop and update academic and professional plans; and assisting with students’ college transition and professional mentorship.

Controller

Description: Responsible for managing the Accounting Department, including accounting, cash management, internal audit as well as the general ledger and accounts payable functions; overseeing the annual external audit and regulatory filings, including the IRS forms 990, 1098, 1099 and A-133 as well as serving as the liaison to the external auditors; working collaboratively across departments to design and implement internal controls and an internal audit program; and assess the risks and related mitigation efforts for the Enterprise Risk Management Program; supervising the Accountant and the Accounts Payable Specialist.

Director, Grant Writing & Compliance

Description: Primarily charged with the College’s grant research, proposal writing, execution and compliance tracking for government, corporate and foundation based funding opportunities in support of the College’s mission. This position works closely with faculty and administrative staff to prioritize opportunities, develop grant goals and funding needs and manage institutional tracking relative to grant and project execution.

First Year Academic Coach

Description: Responsible for providing academic advising and guidance to first-year “at risk” students and students enrolled in the Year Up program. Maintains direct contact with advisees to include meeting with students individually as well as in small groups on an ongoing basis to build rapport, identify barriers to success, set goals and develop action plans for academic success. Monitors educational goals and educational plans to maximize retention and completion. Facilitates academic workshops and seminars specific for first-year students, as well as cultural and social events. Effectively interprets student data for assessment and reporting purposes related to retention.
