Faculty Chair, Legal Studies

Faculty Member, General Studies (English and Communications)

Description: Responsible for instruction of a wide array of undergraduate communications, literature and English composition classes, with a focus on speech communications. Teaches a total of 10 courses during the Fall and Spring Terms (with a 5/5 teaching load for each Fall and Spring Term); engages in, on average, four hours of institutional service per week which may include committee work, student recruitment programs, tutoring, career mentoring, academic advising, networking activities and curriculum/course development; attends functions, as assigned, including commencement, monthly faculty meetings, college forums and scheduled in-service activities; becomes involved in professional development activities and academic/professional organizations; and supports existing relationships with professional communities to foster professional socialization and leadership development.

Description: This position oversees operations for the office, provides administrative support and maintains strict confidentiality of issues involving the Vice President, Academic Advancement. Assists with financial management as needed to maintain internal controls, maintaining files, tracking budgetary activity and preparing expense reports. Assists with the development and forecasting of budget. Communicates with prospective graduate students to encourage enrollment, educate them about the admissions processes and provide support. Responds to inquiries and applications and then refers them to a Graduate Faculty Advisor for maintenance of their program. Oversees all admissions reporting through Salesforce, which includes creating and maintaining reports used for graduate enrollment management. Reviews on a continuous basis all Salesforce operations and recommend changes as needed. Serves as a role model in resolving customer issues in a satisfactory fashion and providing the customer with a superior experience in transacting business with the College and its representatives. Maintains the College community calendar and ensures accuracy of information. Maintains articulation agreements spreadsheet; finalizes agreements for signatures; coordinates mailing/receipt and distribution of signed final agreements; and maintains up-to-date listing on Peirce intranet. Provides administrative support for the Dean of Graduate Studies, Faculty Chairs, faculty and the academic leadership team as needed. Performs special assignments and manages special projects as assigned by the Vice President, Academic Advancement.

Facilitator, Perkins Grant/Student Disability Services Coordinator

Description: This position is responsible for planning and implementing programs to improve the performances of special population students in vocational programs as well as overseeing services for students with disabilities. These services include but are not limited to academic advising, providing reasonable accommodations and referring disabled students to other resources that may assist them. Develops and monitors Individual Education Plans for Perkins Center students and assists in the preparation of necessary reports. Serves as a Program Advisor to these students. Counsels and advises students on their developmental needs and progress and tutors students as needed. Maintains a copy of Section 504 and understand the requirements and intent of the law. Ensures that faculty, staff, potential students and students are informed about Section 504 and student disability services. Responds to students’ and applicants’ requests for reasonable accommodations and provides ongoing assistance to those as needed. Serves as an advocate for students between faculty, external consultants and Office of Vocational Rehabilitation, to assist with reasonable accommodations. Explores the ongoing needs of the disabled student population and, if needed, recommends changes to policies, procedures, or services that could better support students. Additionally, explores and makes recommendations regarding equipment, software,and instructional materials which can enhance the learning environment of students. Conducts workshops and runs events for Perkins students to assist in their transition to college.

Financial Aid Specialist

Description: The position serves as the central point of contact for all student needs regarding financial aid. Responsible for providing in-depth counseling of individual students pertaining to their unique circumstances, to include meeting with students and parents to facilitate the financial aid process; conducting needs analysis in compliance with federal criteria to determine eligibility of each financial aid applicant; adhering to federal verification standards by ensuring the data reported on the Federal Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) accurately reflects the data reported on corresponding federal tax return; resolving discrepancies, explaining and enforcing federal and state regulations, as well as College policy; and maintaining accuracy of student files, authorizing the crediting of aid awards and processing adjustments to aid awards as needed.

Learning Management System and Data Systems Administrator

Description: Responsible for the access to and availability of all Peirce College course content through the Learning Management System (LMS) – content management requires continual interaction with all full-time and adjunct faculty to ensure additions/modifications/deletions to the content is accurately and timely disseminated to all course websites; reconciles errors in the electronic transfer of data between the Student Information System (Jenzabar) and the LMS on a daily basis; enrolls faculty and supplemental instructors in their classes in a timely manner; creates all class websites in the LMS and other databases and ensures that they remain current with added and cancelled classes and staffing assignments; generates and deploys staffing surveys each term and assists with staffing as needed; designs multiple complex, interactive academic databases using Access, Excel and SQL, which provide the platforms on which all functions run, e.g. staffing courses, calculating payroll, tracking independent studies and co-ops, maintaining textbook lists, tracking classroom observations, collecting faculty credentials and scholarly activities information and professional development; builds and maintains course surveys and coordinates course survey deployment, retrieval and reporting process through the LMS; and, assists in administrative functions for the office of Academic Operations and Faculty Support.
