Tamron Hall of NBC News’ ‘TODAY’ and MSNBC to Deliver Peirce College’s 2016 Commencement Speech

PHILADELPHIA, April 27, 2016 -- Tamron Hall, award-winning television journalist, will deliver the 2016 commencement speech at Peirce College’s upcoming graduation exercises on June 13. 

Hall, co-host of NBC News’ “TODAY” and anchor of “MSNBC Live with Tamron Hall” will address graduates at the College’s commencement ceremony, to be held at the Kimmel Center for Performing Arts in Center City Philadelphia at 6:45 p.m. 

“Tamron Hall is an example of how hard work and dedication can help you accomplish your goals,” said Peirce College President and CEO James J. Mergiotti. “Just like our graduates, she has overcome obstacles in her life’s journey. Her story and the success she’s achieved will inspire the Class of 2016 to continue working toward their goals as they begin this next chapter in their lives.”

Hall has hosted several special reports for NBC News and MSNBC, including “Making the Grade,” “Debating the Black Agenda,” several “Dateline” and “Rock Center” pieces, the 2012 London Olympics and “Education Nation: Teacher Town Hall,” which was nominated for an Emmy Award in 2011. She also served as correspondent for the NBC News special “The Inauguration of Barack Obama,” which won an Emmy for Outstanding Live Coverage in October 2010, and was part of the NBC News team to receive a 2015 Edward R. Murrow Award for her segment on domestic abuse as part of TODAY’s “Shine A Light” series. Hall is also the host of “Deadline: Crime with Tamron Hall” on Investigation Discovery.

More than 300 students, most of whom are working adults, are expected to graduate from Peirce in 2016. The College will award 26 master’s degrees, 168 bachelor’s degrees, 106 associate’s degrees and six certificates.
