Associate Professor Pui Shan (Susan) Chan-Peter's teaching journey at the post secondary level began shortly after finishing her bachelor's degree at Drexel University and getting ready for the next stage of her life in attending Graduate School. Within a week of teaching the Introductory College Algebra course, she was hooked ,and the rest is history. She switched her goal from being a doctor to becoming a teacher and has not looked back since.

Professor Chan-Peter holds a Master's of Education in Teaching, Learning and Curriculum with a concentration in General Science and a second Master of Science in Educational Administration Leadership. Her undergraduate degree focused on both Communications and Science. She is a member of the highly selective Golden Key International Honour Society, Drexel University Chapter. Prof. Chan-Peter holds a PA teacher certification for Secondary General Science, thus allowing her to teach a broad range of Science topics.

Professor Chan-Peter came to Peirce College in Spring 2015 as an adjunct professor with over eight years of teaching experience at both the secondary and college levels. She serves as the Course Coordinator for several science courses and concurrently as Associate Professor of General Education, teaching both science and math at Peirce College. Professor Chan-Peter firmly believes that as a teacher, she is also a student; she learns from each of her students, just as they learn from her. She also believes that a teacher has the responsibility of getting to know students not just at the academic level, but also at a personal level as well in order to build learning environments and curriculum that will help them succeed.

Professor Chan-Peter's professional presentations range from topics in teaching math and science to curriculum to the importance of building positive relationships between school, students and the community. She was also selected as a Fellow to the National Science Teacher Association's New Science Teacher Academy Program.

An important aspect of her life is her family, traveling (especially to the beaches) and trying out new things with them as much as possible. In her free time, she practices yoga and explores new recipes to make for family and friends.
