In 2010, as a tribute to Dr. DiAntonio, representatives from the graduating classes of 1948, 1950, and 1952 led the creation of an annual accounting award in honor of Dr. Angelo E. DiAntonio, who taught at Peirce College from 1947 to 1954. During his seven years at Peirce College, “Dr. D.”, as he was affectionately known, taught course in bookkeeping, money and banking, accounting, and finance. He had a positive impact on his students as a teacher, mentor, and advisor.
The purpose of this award is to provide scholarship support to students majoring in accounting who have completed at least 60 credit hours toward their degree and have demonstrated academic success and good citizenship.
Award: annual award of up to $500
- Be a Peirce College undergraduate student enrolled in the Accounting degree program
- Have selected courses for the 2018-2019 school year
- Have completed at least sixty (60) credit hours toward their degree
- Maintain a GPA of 3.0 or above
Interested students must submit a completed application by August 1, 2018 using the Scholarship Application website, and two (2) letters of recommendation evidencing good citizenship. Applicants must also submit a one (1) page typed essay addressing the following topic:
What are your educational goals and how will a degree in accounting help you to achieve them?
