Dr. Milika Singleton serves as Professor in the General Education department at Peirce College. Dr. Singleton joined Peirce College in 2007. She has completed graduate work at Wilmington University and earned a Masters of Counselor Education degree and a Bachelor of Arts degree, Psychology with a Minor in Adolescence at The Pennsylvania State University.

Dr. Singleton has over a decade of experience in faculty and administrative roles in higher education dedicated to serving the professional development needs of both the traditional learners and nontraditional adult learners. She has experience teaching at various institutions in the following areas of academia: Social Sciences, Humanities, Diversity, Freshman Seminar Programs and College Preparation courses.

While at Peirce College, Dr. Singleton led the development and implementation of the College's first Student Leadership Program, which launched in October 2010. Through its fruition, the 2011- 2013 program inducted and developed students to become Student Leaders and to strengthen their leadership skills. The Student Leaders participated in leadership workshops and programs, developed and implemented community service projects and designed and presented leadership workshops to their fellow peers at Peirce College. Since the students' inductions into the organization, many have successfully achieved leadership roles at Peirce College, in their jobs and their communities.

Over the years, Dr. Singleton has been actively involved and served as a member on several committees: Faculty Mentoring Program, Diversity and Inclusion, and Black History Month committees. Dr. Singleton is a dedicated faculty member who truly enjoys being an integral part of the Peirce team that utilizes innovation and creativity to develop courses and delivery services to Peirce College students to accommodate the their needs and those of the surrounding community.

As a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha, Sorority Inc., the first historically black Sorority, founded at Howard University in 1908, Dr. Singleton has assisted in designing and implementing programs and services that promotes academic excellence and recognizes academic achievement for students of all ages. She served on community boards, which provided scholarships to high school seniors for academic excellence and leadership roles in their communities. Dr. Singleton, believes that it is important to support and invest in students' academic aspirations because they are the leaders of the future.
