Assistant Professor, Human Resource Management (HRM)

Description: Responsible for the instruction, course coordination, continuous program review, planning, development, and effectiveness of Human Resource Management (HRM) and select courses within the Business Division. Additional responsibilities require designing, developing, and implementing HRM and Business degrees and certificate programs in accordance with accreditation standards, maintaining the accreditation, and alignment of the HRM curriculum with Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) academic guidelines. Assigned to teach a 5-5-4 teaching load (42 total credit hours annually) and is generally allocated as five courses (15 credit hours) during the Fall, five courses (15 credit hours) during the Spring, and four courses (12 credit hours) during the Summer Terms, and is eligible for up to twelve (12) credit hours in overload annually. Assigned courses may be day, evening, weekend, on campus, on site, and/or online. Serves as Course Coordinator for designated courses to ensure quality, consistency, and compliance to standards as set forth by the Academic Quality Assurance Committee. Engages in, on average, four (4) hours of institutional service per week which may include committee work, student recruitment programs, tutoring, career mentoring, academic advising, networking activities, and curriculum/course development. Attends functions, as assigned, including commencement, monthly faculty meetings, College forums, and scheduled in-service activities. Becomes involved in professional development activities, and academic/professional organizations; and supports existing relationships with professional communities to foster professional socialization and leadership development.

Career Development Counselor

Description:Responsible for providing traditional and non-traditional students and alumni career-based guidance and support for job exploration, professional skills development, and access to resources for continued studies, as well as assisting in the development and facilitation of career-based programming. Builds internal engagement of students, alumni, faculty and staff and is responsible for managing tools and technologies in support of that engagement. Manages the College’s Work-study, Pre-Co-op and Co-op programs. Assists with the development and implementation of CDS experiential and online programs and events, as well as manages the College’s online job board, Handshake.
