Peirce College's Self-Study Report

In March 2022, the Middle States Commission on Higher Education reaffirmed Peirce College’s accreditation.

Peirce met all standards and received no requirements or recommendations. In addition, the College received numerous commendations and special recognitions that noted the institution’s focus on our mission, our team building and support for professional development, our focus on strategic partnerships, our responsiveness to students and our culture. Below is a list of the commendations and recognitions included in the Peer Evaluation Team's report.

Standard I: Mission & Goals

Peirce was commended for maintaining a sharp focus on our mission. The report states that the importance the College places on mission is evident throughout their operations and, most importantly, manifests in their students.

Standard II: Ethics & Integrity

Peirce was commended for sustainable and consistent team building. The report states that internal practices are goal-driven, mission-centric, and promote a commitment to assessment.

Standard III: Design and Delivery of the Student Learning Experience

The report stated the following special recognitions:

The College has provided considerable support for professional development.

The College effectively adjusted the Peirce Fit hybrid model to meet students’ needs and to ensure continuity of classes during the COVID-19 pandemic, allowing students to continue their studies while remaining safe.

The College has been intentional about providing students with curricular opportunities to integrate and synthesize their learning.

Standard IV: Support of the Student Experience

Peirce was commended for its focus on strategic partnerships to support workforce development, increase and/or maintain enrollment and provide experiential opportunities for students. The report said examples of this include the partnership with JetBlue and alternative credit partnerships.

The faculty and advising staff at Peirce was commended for their level of responsiveness to students. The report stated that students are connected to and supported by the institution as a result of the intentional proactive outreach and follow up.

Standard V: Educational Effectiveness Assessment

The report stated the following special recognitions:

The faculty are well-supported in their assessment efforts and actively engaged in these efforts at the course and program level.

The College has fostered a culture of assessment and created a climate where faculty, administrators and staff collaborate together to advance the institution’s aim for continuous improvement. The Academic Roadmap is a particularly effective summary of continuous improvement efforts across academic programs.
