Peirce College Legacy Scholarship Fund

Background

Created in 2025 to honor Peirce College’s 160th anniversary, this restricted scholarship fund was created by gifts from generous donors to provide financial assistance to adult learners. With the anticipated merger between Peirce College and Lackawanna College, this Fund memorializes Peirce’s legacy. As a non-endowed fund, gifts will be awarded in full.

Purpose

The Fund provides scholarships for students using the following award criteria:

  • Students must be enrolled to earn any credential, including a certificate, associate or bachelor degree, or master’s degree in any field of study
  • Students must be in good academic standing
  • Students must submit an application

Recipients will be selected by the College’s Financial Aid office in accordance with the established procedures. There may be one or more recipients each year. Awards may be renewed, but students must apply each year. Financial need is not a requirement.

Peirce College and Lackawanna College have executed a Definitive Agreement to merge with a target date of June 30, 2025 for the change of control. With the consummation of the merger, the Fund’s assets will transfer to Lackawanna College for their management and distribution.
