The Raymond L. Palzer ’52 Endowed Scholarship Fund

Purpose

This scholarship fund was created in 1994 to honor Mr. Palzer’s long relationship with Peirce and his dedication to serving the College and our students. It is intended to provide scholarships to new and existing Peirce College students who have graduated from a private or public high school in Philadelphia County, demonstrate financial need, and are in good academic standing. Students who received a G.E.D. and/or did not attend a Philadelphia high school will still be provided consideration.

Award

Award of up to $1000. There are a limited number of scholarships available.

Students awarded the scholarship may be required to write a thank you letter to the donor within three weeks of receiving the scholarship. Failure to do so many result in the loss of the scholarship. Additional information about this will be communicated to the student once the scholarship has been awarded.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Be a Peirce College undergraduate student
  • Remain in good academic standing
  • Demonstrate financial need
  • File a 2023-2024 Free Application for Federal Student Aid prior to submitting a scholarship application

Application Requirements

Interested students must submit all application materials by the deadline.

  • Completed Common Scholarship Application
  • Applicants must submit an essay by the deadline. The essay should highlight the applicant's involvement in Peirce College or non-college activities, such as current employment, church, or community organizations.
