Career Development Services Center opens doors to students and alumni

From Oct. 11-15, the Career Development Services department is celebrating CDS Student Appreciation Week — our way of letting students know we’re here in our new space! We want students and alumni to take advantage of our presence, our services, and our new location. We want you to come through our doors to take a look at everything that is available to you to help you build your career path.

The invitation to visit us in our new CDS Center (sixth floor of College Hall, room 67) does not expire at the end of the week! We welcome visitors at any time, and the CDS team is always eager to walk students and alumni through the new resources available to help you in your career development, whether you are searching for your first job or looking for a career change after 20 years in the same job.

Here’s an added incentive — all students and alumni who come in will automatically be entered in our raffle to win a free business suit. At the end of the week, two winners (one man and one woman) will be selected. They will even have personal shoppers! Members of our CDS Employer Advisory Board who are well-versed in professional image management will accompany the winners and guide them in selecting an appropriate suit. Keep an eye out for an announcement of the winners!

And if you can’t make it in person, we’ve put together a virtual tour to make sure you know the resources at your fingertips. From mock interviews and resume review, to internship opportunities and the online job board or job club, it is our mission at CDS to help you find and navigate a suitable career path. Students Shahidah Oliver, Mark D’Annunzio and Winifred Clarkson-Wise were kind enough to sit down with us (thanks again, you two!) to share some insight about their experiences with CDS.

Has Career Development Services helped you along the way? If so, we’d love to hear how, so we can find out what benefits Peirce students and alumni the most! Please feel free to leave a comment in the comments section below, or stop by and tell us your story.
