Serving up burgers and education benefits for the Pennsylvania National Guard

As the summer winds down, Peirce fit in one last warm-weather event, a picnic for soldiers at Fort Indiantown Gap. The Gap serves as an active training center and headquarters for the Pennsylvania National Guard.

Burgers and hot dogs were served up at the Pennsylvania National Guard Education Center to thank our service members and make them aware of the many education benefits available for members of the military who are interested in continuing their education.

Peirce has worked with the Pennsylvania National Guard for years, supporting our service members as they pursue higher education. Along with guidance about military benefits, enrollment support, and academics, we offer an annual full tuition scholarship. We thought the cookout would be a great way to further raise awareness of these resources and support educational benefits for guard members.

Peirce representatives Steve Bird, Nadine Maher, Krystal McCoy (Enrollment Representative), Shannon Begley (Registrar and Certifying Official), and Jeri Dmyterko (Military Benefits Processor) spoke with service members and conducted on-site reviews of military transcripts and offered guidance for continuing education.

Thank you to the entire Education Center staff, particularly 1st Sgt. Donald Bartch of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard, Education Service Officer, for the assistance in making it happen.
