Two of the region’s leading chambers of commerce are honoring Peirce College students with scholarships that will support their work to complete their degrees and advance their careers.

The Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia recently named two Peirce students as 2024 recipients of the chamber’s Paradigm Scholarship for Working Women. Each year, the chamber awards the scholarships to women working full-time at chamber member companies, which provide up to $5,000 to use towards tuition and/or books.

The chamber selected Jennifer LeBold, who is earning bachelor’s in Organizational Leadership and Management, and Princess Torres, who is earning a BA in Liberal Studies, as 2024 Paradigm Scholarship recipients. They will be honored at an event schedule for March 21.

LeBold, who is also a 2023 Paradigm Scholarship recipient, said the award makes an impact on those who receive it.

“The exposure to the many inspiring professional women has motivated me to shape a future where I can lead and inspire others,” she said. “My academic effort is a direct reflection of my desire to make a positive impact on my team and organization.”

Torres said her goal is to inspire future generations in her family and community.

“My career goal is to continue serving as a victim services and domestic violence professional,” she said. “My overall future goal is to be an example to my three young children, as I am the first in my family to obtain a college degree, and I hope to pass the importance of education, leadership and service to generations after me.”

In addition, the Main Line Chamber of Commerce honored Faith Messado as a 2023 Golf Leaf Scholarship recipient at an event in December. This scholarship is awarded to women who demonstrate community and academic excellence while pursuing their college degree.

“Because of this scholarship, I am like that little engine who thinks she can,” said Messado, who is finishing her bachelor’s in Liberal Studies through Peirce’s Bachelor’s-to-Master’s program.
