Peirce alumni on the scene in Philadelphia: Meet Robin Yvette Riddick

Peirce College is deeply involved in the Philadelphia community, and our alumni continue that tradition as they pursue other ambitions. One such alumna is Robin Yvette Riddick, a graduate of the class of 1999 who earned her associate degree in Paralegal Studies. Today Robin works for the Defender Association of Philadelphia, and she recently started the Philly’s Ladies and Gentlemen Socialite Cocktail Club.

Robin founded the club with the goal of providing professional women with a source of networking and fun, a way to build their careers, expand relationships, and find both social and educational opportunities with like-minded career women. The club has since expanded to include men as well. Robin is always on the lookout for other groups with similar interests or organizations that host events for her club to get involved in, whether it is social gatherings or workshops to build professional skills.

Networking get-togethers range from social gatherings, such as bowling parties and cocktail hours, to educational workshops that Robin discovers through various avenues. She’s currently looking to build a focus on women’s health issues, and find opportunities for her group to participate in philanthropic events, such as the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure held every year in Philadelphia, as well as general educational events and seminars.

Robin is a great example of a connected alum who strives to stay involved in her community, and is looking to engage with fellow Peirce graduates — mirroring many of our own goals as an institution.

She is eager to get involved with Peirce alumni events, and we hope that many other alums out there will follow in her footsteps as we work to build our alumni relations program. One of the key elements of Peirce’s strategic plan for the future lies in reconnecting with our alumni and building a strong network to keep past, present, and future students involved and connected with the College.

As I said in a previous post, I’ve heard loud and clear that an alumni association is in high demand, so we are working hard to build this network for involved alums like Robin!

Robin invites fellow Peirce alumni to join her club and is eager to expand the network of professionals who are interested in connecting with fellow career women and men. You can contact with Robin directly or visit the Philly’s Ladies and Gentlemen Socialite Club website to find out more about upcoming networking opportunities Robin has uncovered.
