Peirce College Career Development Services and Black History Month Committee to Host a Panel Discussion: Your Hair, Your Image, and Your Career Climb

In honor of Black History Month, Peirce invites you to join us for a conversation examining the intersection of authenticity, cultural identity, and workplace image expectations and career. On Thursday, February 11th from 5:30 to 8 p.m. in rooms 51 &52 in College Hall, Peirce’s Career Development Services and Black History Month Committee will host a discussion that features a panel of black leaders, moderated by Sharmain Matlock-Turner, Peirce College trustee and CEO, Urban Affairs Coalition.

Our panelists are men and women with diverse backgrounds in business, academia, and community. They are:

  • Jameel Rush, Director Organizational Development, Day & Zimmermann
  • Thelma Lawson Haylock, Director of Business Services, Pfizer
  • Bruce F. Burton, Owner and President, The Original Pretty Boyz Barber Shop
  • Lori L. Tharps, Author (featured in Essence magazine) & Assistant Professor, Temple University
  • Markita Morris-Louis, SVP Community Affairs and General Counsel, Clarifi

Audience members will have the opportunity to ask their questions directly to the panelists. This event will also feature surprise giveaways, and light refreshments will be served.  We hope you’ll join us for this important discussion!
