Peirce College offers need-based and non-need based scholarships to help students fund their educations.
Please review each scholarship opportunity carefully. Many of these scholarships will require you to write an essay and/or have two letters of recommendations. Student must be a Peirce College student to apply for the following scholarships.

Letters of recommendation should follow these guidelines:
- Recommendations should be from academic and or business professionals, unless otherwise specified.
- The writer of a letter of recommendation should include his/her name, employer, and phone number in the recommendation.
All Scholarship submittals must be received by Peirce College by 5:00 p.m. EST on the date specified. Peirce College will not be held responsible for any lost or misdirected mail.

First Year Student (FYI) 2012 Scholarship
To apply for this scholarship, students must:
- Maintain a 2.5 GPA
- Complete a minimum of 12 credits
- Complete and pass PRC Orientation Course
- Participate in two (2) workshops or tutoring sessions
- Participate in at least one (1) advising session with a Program Advisor
- Be registered for the 2012-2013 academic year
- Submit the First Year Student Scholarship Application

W.W. Smith Scholarship
Purpose: The purpose of this scholarship is to provide financial support to full-time undergraduate students in a degree-granting course of study, in good academic standing, and whose financial needs cannot be met by other aid programs. This scholarship will provide an annual award in an amount up to $5,000.
Criteria:
Applicants Must:
- File a 2012-2013 Free Application for Federal Student Aid prior to submitting scholarship application
- Submit a completed scholarship application
- Be a second year student at Peirce College
- Be a full-time student
- Maintain at least a 2.5 Grade Point Average (GPA)
- Have financial need not met by other aid programs
- Have permanent home residency in the Delaware Valley Region: Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties, or in the city of Camden, NJ.
- Provide two (2) letters of recommendation. These letters can be prepared by a faculty member, community leader, and/or employer
and should answer the following questions:
- What are your impressions of the candidate's character and maturity?
- How do you regard him/her as a person compared to contemporaries?
- What are the student's strengths?
- Complete a one (1) page typed essay responding to the following topic:
- What challenges do you face in pursuit of an education at Peirce College?
- How will you use this education for the betterment of yourself and the enrichment of others?
Students awarded the scholarship must*:
- Students are required to write a thank you letter to the donor within three weeks of receiving the scholarship. Additional information about this will be communicated to the student once the scholarship has been awarded.
- Maintain the required GPA and full-time enrollment status

International Student Scholarship
Due to federal regulations, international students are not eligible to receive state or federal aid. Peirce College has created a scholarship to help international students experiencing financial hardship. Eligible students must be attending classes at our Philadelphia campus.
Criteria:
- 3.5 GPA or above
- Full-time status for one semester (14 week session)
- 2 letters of recommendation (one recommendation must be from a Peirce College faculty or staff member)
- Personal essay describing academic goals and a financial plan for scholarship money
- Active member of the Walker Center for Academic Excellence, which includes attendance in cultural events and workshops
- Attendance at all International Student meetings
Amount:
$2,000 per year ($1,000 in Fall and $1,000 in Spring)
- Award 2 International students each fall session
- This is not a continual scholarship; therefore, students need to apply for this scholarship each year
- Upon receipt of scholarship, student will be required to attend a financial counseling session to insure scholarship funds are used most efficiently

National Guard Grant
Criteria:
- Must be an active member in good standing of the National Guard or spouse of an active Guard Member from one of the following states: Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Delaware, Maryland or Virginia.
- Spouses of Active National Guard Members must include National Guard Member information.
- Every applicant must complete the application and required essay.
- The application must be signed by the applicant and the National Guard spouse if applicable and the Education Service Officer.
At least one of the five scholarships will always be awarded to a Pennsylvania Guard Member or spouse. Incomplete applications will NOT be considered.

Award Amount: Full Tuition and Fees for a Peirce College degree
The recipient of the scholarship will receive full tuition and fees for up to ten (10) classes per academic year, for a
total of 40 three-credit courses plus the required 1-credit orientation class. The recipient is required to complete a Free
Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each year. The scholarship will be awarded unconditionally for the first year
of study. Thereafter, the scholarship is renewable for each subsequent year of studies if the recipient remains in good
standing. "Good standing" means the recipient receive no failing grade in any course, maintains a GPA of 3.00 or higher
and remains an active member/spouse of the National Guard. The scholarship will become null and void if the recipient exits
the College for a full calendar year. Further details of the scholarship awards will be provided in a financial aid award
letter.

Community College Scholarship Program
To qualify for this scholarship, students must:
- Graduate from a Community College with an Associate degree and a GPA of 2.5, evidenced by an official transcript with a graduation date indicated
- Must be enrolled at Peirce on at least half-time basis
- Must maintain a GPA, at Peirce, of at least a 2.5 and make academic progress
- Applicable to classes taken on campus, online, cluster sites or at a partnering community college
- Applies to students that begin enrollment at Peirce starting on July 1, 2008
This scholarship is awarded unconditionally for the first academic year of enrollment. Thereafter, the scholarship is renewable for each subsequent year of studies if the recipient maintains a GPA of 2.5 or higher. The scholarship will become null and void if the recipient exits the College for a full calendar year. Further details of the scholarship awards will be provided in a financial aid award letter.
Award: This is a renewable award and funds will be dispersed on a term by term basis and after Federal and State grants have been applied. Award is up to $3000 per academic year.

Arthur J. Lendo Endowed Scholarship Fund
To qualify for this scholarship, students must:
- Recipient must be Peirce students who have completed at least sixty (60) credit hours at the College or at another accredited institution.
- Recipient must have earned a grade point average of 3.0 or above.
- Submit an essay titled "How I have used technology innovatively in a workplace or community setting."
- Provide two reference letters evidencing good citizenship.

Peirce College Board of Trustees Scholarship
Purpose: The purpose of this award is to provide financial support for new and existing students who demonstrate financial need.
Applicants Must:

President's Scholarship Competition
New applicants to Peirce College or applicants that have fewer than 15 Peirce College credits who are seeking their Bachelor's Degree can compete for these Scholarships. This scholarship is awarded unconditionally for the first academic year of enrollment. Thereafter, the scholarship is renewable for each subsequent year of studies if the recipient maintains a GPA of 2.5 or higher. Further details of the scholarship awards will be provided in a financial aid award letter. This scholarship is open to undergraduate students only.
Awards up to $10,000

Candidate Interviews: November 16, 2013
To enter, each candidate must submit a Scholarship Review Package in their selected degree program consisting of the following:
- An Essay

Annual Mayor's City of Philadelphia Scholarships
Peirce awards two scholarships for full tuition and fees each year to City of Philadelphia employees or residents. Click

The recipient of the scholarship will receive full tuition and fees for up to ten (10) classes per academic year, for a total of 40 three-credit

Purpose: This scholarship was created by Lt. Col. Frank O'Bannon to honor his wife, Mildred Brown-O'Bannon, class of 1938. This scholarship will provide an annual award in an amount up to $500.

Purpose: The purpose of this award is to provide scholarship support to students majoring in accounting who have completed 60 credit hours or more toward their degree and have demonstrated good citizenship. This award provides an annual award in an amount up to $500.

PEIRCE COLLEGE - WILL CLIFTON '84 SCHOLARSHIP
Purpose: This scholarship was established to honor Will Clifton, a 1984 graduate of Peirce College and president of the Black Student Union. The purpose of this scholarship is to provide financial support to an African-American student who has successfully completed 24 or more credits and are enrolled in a two year degree program. This scholarship will provide an annual award in an amount up to $500.

PEIRCE COLLEGE GRANTS
Alumni Grant
Peirce College allows children, grandchildren and spouses of a Peirce alumnus to apply for an Alumni Grant. Submit an application for Alumni Grant here.
Sibling Grant
Peirce's Sibling Plan offers the sibling of a Peirce student or graduate. Submit an application for Sibling Grant here.
NOTE: If more than two siblings apply, the amount will be divided equally (or as requested) for a combined amount of no more than 25%.
Awarding of Alumni and Sibling Grants:
The Alumni and Sibling Grants are contingent upon the applicant meeting all of the following eligibility requirements. To be eligible the applicant: (1) must provide documentation that a parent, sibling, grandparent or spouse graduation status.(2) Must provide documentation proof of their relationship to alumni and/or sibling .(3) Must meet all of the College's admission standards and qualifications before being eligible for the grant. In some cases, college can retrieve records to prove eligibility. The grant allow for the following discounts: 25% for 12 credits or more, 20% for 9 credits, 15% for 6 credits, 10% for 3 credits. This grant will be applied for tuition only.
Protect and Serve Grant
Peirce College will provide a Protect and Serve Grant, on tuition only (not on fees), to all members of The Fraternal Order of Police and Fire Fighters, Active or Retired Armed Forces, EMT workers and Correction Officers. The grant will be available to spouses and dependent children (according to the Internal Revenue Service definitions for legal dependent) who are accepted at Peirce College. Student must provide documentation of organization. Submit an application for Protect and Serve Grant here.
Awarding of Protect and Serve Grant:
The Protect and Serve Grant is contingent upon the applicant meeting all of the following eligibility requirements. To be eligible the applicant: (1) must provide supporting qualified documentation (2) Must meet all of the College's admission standards and qualifications before being eligible for the grant. The maximum discount is 25% off tuition. Documentation must be received prior to the start of session or term. No retroactive awards will be made.

ALUMNI ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP
Purpose: The purpose of this scholarship is to provide financial support to new students entering Peirce College and second year students who have completed a minimum of 24 credits. This fund will provide an annual award in an amount up to $2,000 for new students and $8,000 for second year students. All students (including past recipients) must reapply each year.

- Have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Provide two (2) letters of recommendation. These letters can be prepared by a faculty member, community leader, and/or
employer and should answer the following questions:

- How do you regard him/her as a person compared to contemporaries?
- What are the student's strengths or weaknesses?
- Complete a two to three paged typed essay responding to the following topic:
- Imagine it is the day after you receive your Peirce degree: what reflections do you have to offer about how your Peirce experience has changed you, and in turn, how have you helped change Peirce?

EDNA THOMPSON '32 SCHOLARSHIP FUND - EMERGENCY AWARD
Through a generous bequest from Edna M. Thompson ’32, the purpose of this scholarship is to provide emergency financial support to alleviate some of the financial burdens many worthy and needy students face as they work to achieve a college education. This scholarship will provide assistance to students who:
- Have exhausted all of their sources of financial aid.
- Are confronted with an unforeseen personal crisis that has caused them to become unable to meet their financial obligation (such as death of an immediate family member, a natural disaster, pending eviction, burglary, fire).
Peirce College will fund up to $1,500 each to up to 10 students per year who are seeking emergency financial support and who fall within one of the categories indicated above. All students applying for this scholarship must meet the following general eligibility criteria and can only apply once per academic year:
wi- Demonstrate financial need.
- Have a GPA of 2.5 or higher.
- Be registered for classes during the session they are requesting financial assistance.
