Women in Leadership video

The feedback and insight from the students and alumni who visit CDS every day is integral to helping us plan activities and events that we think will be meaningful and helpful to you. In April, the Career Development Services team brought back the wildly popular Women in Leadership panel discussion. Four inspiring women representing various industries joined us to share their personal and professional journeys.

These distinguished leaders have walked in shoes just like yours to get where they are today. Here’s who we heard from:

  • Charisse Lillie, Vice President of Community Investment at Comcast, and President of The Comcast Foundation
  • Katy Theroux, Chair of the Peirce College Board of Trustees, Senior Vice President of Customer Engagement and Human Resources for GS1
  • Sharmain Matlock-Turner, President of the Urban Affairs Coalition
  • Mellanie Lassiter, Corporate Contributions Manager at PECO

Watch the video below to hear these successful women describe their unique journeys. They share how they juggle careers, families, life, and so much more. We captured highlights from their discussion on their challenges and triumphs, the qualities that make them great leaders, and how they plan to inspire future generations. We hope the words of these women help you map out a plan to execute your future goals.

Thanks again to our panelists for taking the time out of their busy schedules to spend time with us and share their wisdom and leadership advice!

  • Mellanie Lassiter has made some excellent contributions to this program. I honestly think it was a blessing to have attended, and it made me feel proud and unafraid to pursue some of the dreams that I have of owning my own business as a woman. Thanks for posting the video as well. Very exciting stuff.
